Given that Mrs. Big Dubya and I are expecting Little Dubya (he, she, it, the baby, ohmigod why is he kicking me in the ribs) in just about 8 weeks (early July), I guess you could say that I'm a little behind the curve in getting on the "baby-blogging" bandwagon. It seems like many parents-to-be blogs started their pages as soon as the positive sign came up on the test. (Anyone else out there use the entire box and then go out and buy the digital version just to make sure? Huh? Anyone? Bueller?)
Well, anyway, here we are. Like I said, Little Dubya is due around July 3 - Independence Day or so - how ironic can you get? Independence Day. Just someone's idea of a cruel, cruel joke. However, I will happily sacrifice any semblance of independence for oh, say, the rest of my life, as long as our child (singular for now, anyway - one step at a time people, please) can carry on a conversation entirely in movie quotes, can explain the infield fly rule, knows there is a Santa Claus (hey, we're Red Sox fans - how else do you explain it?) and just grows up without needing much time in therapy discussing all the ways Mr. and Mrs. Big Dubya messed up their life. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so.
